After three games on the road, Colorado Springs FC earned yet another clean sheet as they defeated Boulder FC 4-0 at their home stadium on Sunday, April 23. Their second win in a row brought them to an overall record of 4-1.
It was a slow start for CSFC, but they quickly got together and had organization throughout the midfield. Once settled in the game, Pedro Hernandez scored not once, but twice with assists from Joey Mikulas and Marcus Reynolds. Both goals were just minutes apart, the first in the 41 minute and the second in the 44 minute of the game.
By the start of the second half, it was clear CSFC controlled the game. Marcus Reynolds went on to score a goal of his own in the 66 minute of the game, assisted by Cj Francis. It was in the final minutes of the game when Matt Marchena scored his fourth goal of the season.
Head Coach, John Wells, had some comments about Sunday’s game.
“Great win today. The players played well. I saw some things we need to work on this week in training, but I was overall pleased with our effort. Four good goals and hard work including our subs today who contributed to two of the goals.”
Come cheer on your local UPSL Men’s Pro-Development Team this Sunday, April 30 at the Grace Center. Club El Azul will be looking for a rematch, but will they succeed or will CSFC walk away with another win?
